Carmon Deyo and Mike Dibble live in a yurt they built themselves in the mountains of northeastern New Mexico. They share their lives with four adopted mustangs, one domestic horse, three greyhounds and two cats. Their jewelry is inspired by their animal companions as well as the ancient legends of the Celts.
The Sky Herd
Run free my brothers in hooves.
Once you were earthbound
and now not even the sky can hold you.
Clouds are the mountains you graze on
and rain the pools you drink from.
Your strong legs are flashes of lightning
as you dance across the earth.
I will never touch your warm body again
nor feel the sweetness of your breath;
but my spirit will always ride with you
on your journey across the heavens.

Truly Mike's best friend and
brother in hooves.
Corazon de la Tierra (Heart of the Earth) was adopted in November 2003 from the Owyhee HMA in Nevada. Born in 2000, he is our herd's quiet leader who keeps peace and order in his own gentle way.
Griton (One Who Shouts) came home to us in March 2005. He is from the Stewart Creek HMA in Wyoming and was also born in 2000. Griton is a prankster who loves to annoy the rest of the band, but who only has eyes for Carmon.
Valeroso (Couragous) came from the area around Placetas, New Mexico. He is not a BLM mustang and is the smallest of our horses, yet with the biggest attitude! He also was born in 2000.
Llego (He Arrived) is the youngest of our band being born in 2002 and he is from the Sandwash HMA in Colorado. Llego is Corazon's best friend and a quiet leader in training.
Besol ( Sun Kissed) is the most recent addition to the herd and our only domestic born horse. He also was born in 2000 and is a Rocky Mountain cross who has managed to merge well with our herd of wild ones.
Vannie is a senior greyhound who came to live with us at the age of nine after her original adopters could no longer keep her. Vannie has been a real joy for us and at the age of 13, still believes she is a puppy.
Ellie joined our family in 2005 after we lost our senior greyhound, Mikey. She is such a joyful dog that she came into our lives with a leap and a bound and refused to let us mourn too long.
Duffy joined us in 2006 and still hasn't stopped running and spinning! Except of course when he is lying on the couch or searching out a pet or two. He is unusual for an NGA greyhound in that he never raced or was even put in training.
Nicodemus was adopted in 2005 and is often referred to as 'the invisible cat' since he seldom shows himself to anyone but us.
Fionna came a year after Nicodemus and has proven herself to be a phenominal huntress and trainer of greyhounds.
