Apple
The simple apple has held a rich place in Celtic legend from Avellenor, the Goddess of Apple Orchards, to Avalon, King Arthur's Land of Apples. It was believed the branch of an apple tree that held both fruit and blooms would provide safe passage to and from the Underworld. In some stories, it bestows immortality to its bearer. The apple is a symbol of fertility, abundance and long life.
