Cuervo Humoso (Smokey Raven) came from the Sand Wash range in northwestern Colorado, an area known as a mini-Grand Canyon. We spotted Cuervo on the 'Special Adoptors Wanted' listing at the BLM website and knew he was ours. As a free-roaming mustang, he had received a deep puncture wound behind his right foreleg which left a fist-sized hollow scar. The fact that he survived such an injury under harsh conditions is a tribute to his mustang heritage. Cuervo was a wise, funny and very affectionate horse who chose Mike as his human friend and leader.
