Starting in 1994, less than a hundred people met in the small town of Dewey Beach, Delaware to spend a weekend sharing and celebrating their love of greyhounds. Now every Columbus Day weekend thousands gather to celebrate the greyhounds that bind them together and strangers become friends as they hunt for hound siblings, share adoption stories, or share grief over beloved greyhounds who have left them behind. Everywhere you look, there are sleek hounds of all sizes and colors, strolling the beach, wandering through town and always happily greeting each other and the people who have brought them together. We designed this piece to honor the people who first thought to create a greyhound reunion at Dewey Beach and made it happen...and who keep making it happen year after year. Judy, Pat, Martha and Joan, our hearts and our thanks go out to you for your tireless efforts to bring people and greyhounds together in an atmosphere of joy and celebration.
