Ancient Egyptians held dogs in such high esteem that killing one meant death as well to the perpetrator. Many Pharaohs, such as Tutankhamen, were either buried with their favorite Greyhounds or their tombs decorated with paintings of them. Anubis, the dog-headed god, was the most prominent Egyptian god. His role was to prepare bodies for burial and determine the balance of good and bad deeds committed in each life. Oupouaout, the 'trail leader' was shown as a standing Greyhound, guiding the souls of the dead to their final destination. Only Egyptian royalty were permitted to keep Greyhounds and they were carried in honor on the backs of camels when crossing the deserts.

Black Horse Design is closing forever.
Please, let's get this clear once and for all. I suffered a massive malignant brain tumor and brain bleed on Friday June 18th. Emergency surgery was done to save my life. My brain was traumatized and I still have more surgery and a long road ahead of me. Please do not put me in the hateful position of having to tell you that no, I can't make you 'just one more' of something because you didn't manage to buy it in the last eleven years that Black Horse Design has been open.
Also no, no designs or copyrights will be sold for reproduction purposes and anyone taking advantage of the current circumstances to perpetuate copyright infringements will be prosecuted.
All prices on remaining inventory have been reduced as part of a closeout opportunity and this is the last time these jewelry items will ever be available. If you want a piece of jewelry, you currently have two choices. You can stay in touch with Marjory at bhd.east@gmail.com or phone her at 484-480-5854 and wait as patiently as it takes to receive the order. Or, you can cancel the order and receive a refund. I have nothing left to give and I no longer have the strength or ability to deal with people only worrying about when they might receive a piece of jewelry. My sole focus right now has to be to recover so that I can be present for both myself and my family. Please find it in yourselves to extend me some courtesy in these things and allow me the time and space necessary to heal. All things eventually end and it is past time for Black Horse Design.
Also, be aware that because of Marjory's job and home commitments, orders will probably take six or more weeks for finishing and shipping. All order buttons for remaining inventory will be permanently removed after November 15, 2010 to give Marjory a chance to actually enjoy Christmas with her family this year.
My thanks to everyone for your words of comfort and support after I was diagnosed with cancer in 2008, and for your continued support ~ Carmon Deyo
