When Mike's horse, Cuervo Humoso (Smokey Raven) died in 2005, it was a blow to us all. It seemed their journies together had just begun and then Cuervo was gone. Mike's new horse, Llego (He Arrived) came home to us the following year. When we started him under saddle the fall of 2007, I wanted to create something special for them both, a symbol of protection for what we hope will be many, many years together.
Mike & Llego

Looking forward to the future and the trails ahead.
  • The Raven represents Cuervo, whose spirit is still with us.
  • The five dark stars are our five living horses: Corazon de la Tierra, Griton, Llego, Besol and Valeroso.
  • The Morning Star is our black horse, Star, who started it all.
  • The hand is for friendship and support and the symbol at the wrist is brotherhood.
  • The hoofprints to the right are the many journies Mike and Llego will make together.
  • And it is all contained in a circle for the continuity of life.
I decided on a sterling silver shield that Llego could wear in the center of his breast collar and put a great deal of thought into the symbols I would put there.

Truly Mike's best friend and
brother in hooves.
