Brushed Sterling Splendid Mane

Splendid Mane could travel with ease on land and sea and was said to be faster than the spring gales. He was the horse of Manannan MacLir, God of the Headlands, for whom the Isle of Man is named. Manannan's magical seahorse could bring calm to the water or raise great storms. It is said by fishermen of the area that Splendid Mane can still be seen cresting the waves as they come to shore near Man, Arran and the Firth of Clyde. Those shores were the home of Manannon MacLir and the site of the sacred grove of apples, called Emain Ablach, where Manannan kept his conch shell throne.
