Story
by DeborahAnne Mac Gillivray
Splendorous
Mane could travel with ease on land and sea and was said to be
faster than the Spring gales. He was the horse of Manannan MacLir,
God of the Headlands, for whom the Isle of Man is named. Fionn's
magickal seahorse could bring calm to the water or raise storms.
It is said by fishermen of the area that Spendid Mane can still
be seen cresting the waves as they near the shores near Man,
Arran or the Firth of Clyde, the site of the sacred grove of
apples, called Emain Ablach, where Manannan kept his conch shell
throne.
