Sterling Wren pendant 1 1/4"...$40
In Ireland, the wren was called the Drui-en which meant the Druid Bird and was considered to be sacred. A Scottish Highland tale tells of how the wren outwitted the mighty eagle to become the King of the Birds, and the Bretons believed that it was the wren that brought fire from the heavens. In modern times, the ancient Feast of the Wren has become the St. Stephens Day celebration held on December 26th in which live wrens are carried by children from door to door in wicker baskets.
